La Trinidad
La Trinidad[1] es la verdad bíblica de que Dios Padre, Dios Hijo y Dios Espíritu Santo no son diferentes sino uno.
La mayoría de las iglesias, como la católica y las protestantes, reconocen a la Trinidad, pero sus interpretaciones son diferentes. Sin embargo, el Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento describen al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo como un solo Dios Padre.
Concepto de la Trinidad
La Biblia nos enseña que Dios Padre Jehová, Dios Hijo Jesucristo y Dios Espíritu Santo son el mismo. El El agua (líquido) se transforma en hielo (sólido) al estar a una temperatura inferior al punto de congelación, y se convierte en vapor (gaseoso) al superar los 100 ºC. El agua, el hielo y el vapor tienen diferentes nombres y formas, pero presentan el mismo compuesto químico (H2O). Además, podemos pensar en un monodrama en el que un actor desempeña tres papeles. En un monodrama, un mismo actor interpreta todos los papeles. Aunque el actor interprete tres papeles diferentes, sigue siendo la misma persona.
En la Biblia están Dios Padre, el Hijo de Dios (Dios Hijo) y el Espíritu de Dios (Espíritu Santo). Sin embargo, son uno y el mismo Dios Padre en esencia.
Dios Padre Jehová = Dios Hijo Jesús
Numerosas iglesias tienen opiniones diversas sobre quién es Jesús en esencia. Algunas iglesias afirman que Jehová y Jesús son un solo Dios, pero existen por separado dentro del único Dios. Otras iglesias consideran a Jesús como uno de los ángeles o como un hombre. Algunos incluso insisten en que Jehová y Jesús son diferentes, aunque se los describe como uno solo por tener la misma voluntad y propósito.
Solo la Biblia puede demostrar con exactitud quién es Jesús.
“Escudriñad las Escrituras; porque a vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí [de Jesús].”
Cuando Jesús mencionó las Escrituras (la Biblia), se refería al Antiguo Testamento, no al Nuevo Testamento. Sin estudiar las profecías de los profetas del Antiguo Testamento sobre Cristo que ha de venir, nunca podremos saber quién es realmente Jesús. Si examinamos cuidadosamente las profecías del Antiguo Testamento, a través de su cumplimiento podemos entender quién es Jesús y la Trinidad.
El mensajero de Jehová prepara el camino para Jehová
El Antiguo Testamento profetizó que Jehová (Mesías) mismo vendría al mundo.
“He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero, el cual preparará el camino delante de mí; [...] ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.”
Esto significa que Jehová Dios enviará primero a su mensajero con el fin de preparar el camino para su venida al mundo. El profeta Isaías profetizó lo mismo.
“Voz que clama en el desierto: Preparad camino a Jehová; enderezad calzada en la soledad a nuestro Dios. [...] levanta fuertemente tu voz, anunciadora de Jerusalén; levántala, no temas; di a las ciudades de Judá: ¡Ved aquí al Dios vuestro! [...] He aquí, que Jehová el Señor vendrá con poder, y su brazo señoreará [...]”
La profecía sobre el mensajero que prepara el camino para Jehová fue cumplida por Juan el Bautista, y la profecía sobre Jehová se cumplió con Jesús que vino en la carne.
“En aquellos días vino Juan el Bautista predicando en el desierto de Judea, y diciendo: Arrepentíos, porque el reino de los cielos se ha acercado. Pues este es aquel de quien habló el profeta Isaías, cuando dijo: Voz del que clama en el desierto: Preparad el camino del Señor, enderezad sus sendas.”
Piedra para tropezar y tropezadero para caer
El profeta Isaías profetizó que Jehová sería piedra para tropezar y tropezadero para caer.
“A Jehová de los ejércitos, [...] pero a las dos casas de Israel, por piedra para tropezar, y por tropezadero para caer, y por lazo y por red al morador de Jerusalén. Y muchos tropezarán entre ellos, y caerán, y serán quebrantados; y se enredarán y serán apresados.”
La profecía sobre la piedra para tropezar y el tropezadero para caer se cumplió con Jesús en el Nuevo Testamento. Para los que no creían, Jesús se convirtió en piedra para tropezar y tropezadero para caer.
“Acercándoos a él [[[Jesús]]], piedra viva, desechada ciertamente por los hombres, mas para Dios escogida y preciosa [...]. Por lo cual también contiene la Escritura: He aquí, pongo en Sion la principal piedra del ángulo, escogida, preciosa; y el que creyere en él, no será avergonzado. Para vosotros, pues, los que creéis, él es precioso; pero para los que no creen, la piedra que los edificadores desecharon, ha venido a ser la cabeza del ángulo; y: piedra de tropiezo, y roca que hace caer, porque tropiezan en la palabra, siendo desobedientes; a lo cual fueron también destinados.”
Jehová de los ejércitos en el Antiguo Testamento es Jesucristo que vino como hombre en los tiempos del Nuevo Testamento.
El Salvador
En el Antiguo Testamento está escrito muchas veces que no hay otro Salvador excepto Jehová.[2][3]
“Yo, yo Jehová, y fuera de mí no hay quien salve.”
Pero en el Nuevo Testamento está escrito que no hay otro Salvador excepto Jesús.
“Este Jesús es la piedra reprobada por vosotros los edificadores, la cual ha venido a ser cabeza del ángulo. Y en ningún otro hay salvación; porque no hay otro nombre bajo el cielo, dado a los hombres, en que podamos ser salvos.”
Si Jehová Dios y Jesús son diferentes, es imposible que ambos escritos sean verdaderos al mismo tiempo. Si conectamos y observamos las palabras del Antiguo y del Nuevo Testamento que dan testimonio del Salvador, es evidente que Jehová Dios y Jesús son uno y el mismo en la Trinidad.
El Juez
La Biblia profetiza que en el futuro, Jehová vendrá al mundo con fuego y pronunciará el juicio final.
“Porque he aquí que Jehová vendrá con fuego, y sus carros como torbellino, para descargar su ira con furor, y su reprensión con llama de fuego. Porque Jehová juzgará con fuego y con su espada a todo hombre; y los muertos de Jehová serán multiplicados.”
Sin embargo, en el Nuevo Testamento está escrito que Jesús es el que se manifestará en llama de fuego y traerá juicio.
“[...] cuando se manifieste el Señor Jesús desde el cielo con los ángeles de su poder, en llama de fuego, para dar retribución a los que no conocieron a Dios, ni obedecen al evangelio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo; los cuales sufrirán pena de eterna perdición, excluidos de la presencia del Señor y de la gloria de su poder.”
Mediante esto podemos entender que Jesús es Jehová Dios que vendrá como el último Juez.
Jehová se sienta sobre el trono de David
En la Biblia estaba profetizado que el Padre Eterno, Jehová Dios, nacería como un niño y se sentaría sobre el trono de David.
“Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado sobre su hombro; y se llamará su nombre Admirable, Consejero, Dios Fuerte, Padre Eterno, Príncipe de Paz. Lo dilatado de su imperio y la paz no tendrán límite, sobre el trono de David y sobre su reino, disponiéndolo y confirmándolo en juicio y en justicia desde ahora y para siempre. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.”
Fue Jesús quien nació en el mundo como un niño y un hijo[4] y recibió el trono de David.
““Y ahora, concebirás en tu vientre, y darás a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre JESÚS. Éste será grande, y será llamado Hijo del Altísimo; y el Señor Dios le dará el trono de David su padre.”
A través de ello, comprendemos que Jesús, quien nació como un niño en esta tierra y se sentó sobre el trono de David, es Jehová Dios. Así que en la Trinidad, el Padre Jehová y el Hijo Jesús son el único y el mismo.
Emanuel
El Antiguo Testamento profetizó que Aquel que naciera de una virgen sería llamado “Emanuel”.[5] Esta profecía se cumplió con el nacimiento de Jesús.
“Por tanto, el Señor mismo os dará señal: He aquí que la virgen concebirá, y dará a luz un hijo, y llamará su nombre Emanuel.”
“El nacimiento de Jesucristo fue así: Estando desposada María su madre con José, antes que se juntasen, se halló que había concebido del Espíritu Santo. [...] Y dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Jesús, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados. Todo esto aconteció para que se cumpliese lo dicho por el Señor por medio del profeta, cuando dijo: He aquí, una virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Emanuel, que traducido es: Dios con nosotros.”
Immanuel (Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל) combinación de immanu (עמנו, con nosotros) y el (אל, Dios).En conjunto, significa “Dios con nosotros”. Cuando Jesús nació como un niño, Jehová Dios estuvo con su pueblo. En otras palabras, Dios nació como un niño a través de una virgen. Por lo tanto, Jesús en esencia es Jehová Dios.
El Alfa y la Omega
Según la Biblia, el Padre y el Hijo son el Alfa y la Omega.
“Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, principio y fin, dice el Señor [Jehová]”
“Yo [Jesús] soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin, el primero y el último.”
Alfa y omega son la primera (Α) y la última letra (Ω) del alfabeto griego. En la Biblia, “Alfa y Omega” significa el primero y el último, el principio y el fin. Si Dios Padre Jehová y Dios Hijo Jesús fueran diferentes, el Hijo no podría ser el Alfa, el principio, porque el Padre debe existir antes que el Hijo. Sin embargo, en la Biblia, tanto el Padre como el Hijo son el Alfa. Por lo tanto, el Padre y el Hijo son el mismo en esencia, según la verdad de la Trinidad.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords
God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, . . .
“He [Lamb] is Lord of lords and King of kings. ”
Only God can be called the “King of kings and Lord of lords.” Jesus, the Lamb,[6]is called the “King of kings and Lord of lords” because He is God the Father Jehovah.
Lord of the Sabbath
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths.’ ”
“For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
The Sabbath is the day of God Jehovah. In the New Testament, however, Jesus said that He was Lord of the Sabbath. This means that God the Father and Jesus are one and the same.
God the Father Jehovah = Holy Spirit
There Is Only One Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a term that refers to the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is not different from God Himself.[7] If God and the Holy Spirit were different, there would be two Holy Spirits; however, the Bible explains that there is only one Holy Spirit.[8]
There is one body and one Spirit.
Therefore, Jehovah and the Holy Spirit are one and the same.
The Holy Spirit Searches the Thoughts of God
Comparatively, as the spirit within us is ourselves, so the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is God Jehovah. As the spirit within us fully understands us, the Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God, which no one can know except God.
God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit, who is the only One who searches even the deep things of God, is God Himself.
The Bible Is God-Breathed
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Paul said that the Bible is God-breathed; however, Apostle Peter said that the Old Testament prophets were carried along by the Holy Spirit when they wrote the Bible. This means that God the Father Jehovah is the Holy Spirit.
God the Son Jesus = Holy Spirit
God the Father Jehovah and God the Son Jesus are one; God the Father Jehovah and God the Holy Spirit are also one. This means that God the Son Jesus and God the Holy Spirit are one. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit. It means that the Holy Spirit was born in the flesh through the body of Mary.[9]
One Mediator
A mediator is a person who helps to resolve a conflict between two or more people. In the Bible, it refers to a person who helps to restore the relationship between God and mankind who have been separated by sin. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ works alone as the Mediator between God and men.[10]
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Unlike the priests in the Old Testament, Jesus is a living and eternal priest who intercedes for the saints. [11][12] This is a role that Jesus, the only Mediator, can play.
In the book of Romans, however, it says that the Spirit and Jesus intercede for the saints.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. . . . Christ Jesus, . . . is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
- Romans 8:26–27, 34
The Holy Spirit also does the mediating work that only Jesus can do. This means that the Holy Spirit and Jesus are one and the same.
Advocate (Counselor)
Jesus sacrificed Himself as an offering to pay for the sins of mankind. Apostle John described Jesus as an advocate who speaks on behalf of the saints before God.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate (παρακλητος, paráklētos)[13] with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
- 1 John 2:1–2, KJV
The original Greek word for advocate is paráklētos (παρακλητος), which means a person who is called to stand by and defend someone. The only Counselor for all human beings, who are sinners, is Jesus who became the peace or fellowship offering to atone for the sins of His people. John, who wrote that Jesus is our Advocate, also wrote that the Holy Spirit is the Advocate (Counselor).
“But the Counselor [παρακλητος, paráklētos], the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Through this, we can understand that Jesus, who is the only Advocate (Counselor), is the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit Is With Us Forever
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever–the Spirit of truth. . . . he lives with you and will be in you. . . . On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
"Another Counselor" refers to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells with and in the saints forever; however, in Matthew 28 and John 6, it is written that Jesus will always dwell and be with the saints until the end.
- "“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20
- “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.” John 6:56
This means that Jesus, who is with the saints forever, is the Holy Spirit. According to the truth of the Trinity, God the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same.
The Lamb and the Holy Spirit
Apostle John saw a revelation of the heavenly wedding banquet that would take place in the future.
"Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready."
The “Lamb” refers to Jesus. According to this verse, when Jesus, the Lamb, comes back into this world, this event will take place. The Lamb (Jesus) and His bride, who appear at the heavenly wedding banquet, are described as the Spirit and the Bride in the last chapter of Revelation.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
In this prophecy, the Spirit refers to Jesus who comes again to this world; therefore, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same.
The Spirit of Christ and the Holy Spirit
Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Peter wrote that the words of the prophecies, which were written by the prophets of the Old Testament who were moved by the Spirit of Christ, were written by men who were carried along by the Holy Spirit. This means that God the Son Jesus and God the Holy Spirit are one and the same.
The Correct Understanding the Trinity
Throughout the Old and New Testaments, the Bible consistently shows that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same God.[14] Even though each has a different name, They are still the same. Those who understood the Trinity like Apostles Paul and John knew that Jesus Christ was God Jehovah who created the heavens and the earth with His words.[15][16] God the Holy Spirit is also God Jehovah the Creator, and Jesus Christ who forgave the sins of mankind through the new covenant.
