El Abogado (Consolador)

Abogado (Consolador) es la traducción de la palabra griega παράκλητος (parakletos). El término se refiere a Jesucristo o el Espíritu Santo, usado cuatro veces por el apóstol Juan en la Biblia.

Significado de Parakletos

El griego parakletos En otras palabras, es un intercesor. Otros sinónimos son ayudante, defensor y consejero. Según otras versiones de la Biblia, se traduce como consejero, ayudante o defensor.

Jesucristo, el Abogado (Consolador)

El apóstol Juan escribió que Jesucristo es el Consolador.

“[…] y si alguno hubiere pecado, abogado [παράκλητος] tenemos para con el Padre, a Jesucristo el justo.”

- 1 Juan 2:1

En el libro de 1 Juan está escrito que Jesús es el abogado. En algunas versiones de la Biblia, “los ayudará” (ayudante) reemplaza al término “abogado”. Es porque la palabra griega para ayudante y abogado es parakletos. Mientras Jesús estuvo en la tierra en cuerpo como Parakletos, enseñó la verdad a los santos para que pudieran ir al cielo. Incluso en el cielo, Él los defiende como Parakletos.

Another Counselor

Jesus mentioned “another Counselor” the night before He passed away on the cross.

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.”

- John 14:16

Through the words “another Counselor,” Jesus revealed that He Himself was the Counselor who was with His disciples in human form, and also showed that “another Counselor” would appear in the future, referring to Him as the Holy Spirit.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

- John 14:26

In the following words, He taught us that another Counselor, that is the Holy Spirit, would appear in the future as the Second Coming Christ.

“I [Jesus] will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. . . . You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ ”

- John 14:18, 28

Jesus said, “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, will come and teach all things,” and then “I am going away and I am coming back to you.” In other words, the Holy Spirit refers to Jesus who comes a second time. He meant that Jesus, the Counselor, would come again as another Counselor, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit teaches all the truths to the saints and helps them enter the kingdom of heaven. As the Counselor, He is always with the saints until the end, taking the role of an advocate.
