La Iglesia de Dios comenzó en Corea del Sur (en lo sucesivo, “Corea”) y se ha desarrollado y ha crecido rápidamente hasta tener 7500 iglesias en 175 países en medio siglo. El Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén (establecido en el año 2000 y ahora conocido como el Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Imae) sirvió como iglesia representante hasta que se estableció el [[Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Pangyo]]. El Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Pangyo (en lo sucesivo denominado “templo de Pangyo”) es la iglesia representante de la Iglesia de Dios Sociedad Misionera Mundial. Fue construido en la Nueva Ciudad de Pangyo, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, República de Corea, donde está situado el parque tecnológico de Pangyo, un complejo industrial de alta tecnología. El 10 de enero del 2016, se celebró el culto de inauguración* del templo de Pangyo. El templo de Pangyo es un lugar de culto y educación para la fe de los miembros, la comunicación con los vecinos a través de diversas actividades como servicios voluntarios y eventos, y la promoción de la armonía dentro de la comunidad. Los miembros de todo el mundo que visitan Corea ganan diversas experiencias y conocimientos de la Biblia en varias instituciones e instalaciones de la Iglesia de Dios, con centro en el templo de Pangyo. Cuando regresan a sus países, comparten las enseñanzas de Dios y presentan la cultura coreana a las personas, desempeñando el papel de diplomáticos civiles.

La Iglesia de Dios comenzó en Corea del Sur (en lo sucesivo, “Corea”) y se ha desarrollado y ha crecido rápidamente hasta tener 7500 iglesias en 175 países en medio siglo. El Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén (establecido en el año 2000 y ahora conocido como el Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Imae) sirvió como iglesia representante hasta que se estableció el Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Pangyo. En 2016, el templo de Pangyo se construyó nuevamente porque no solo aumentaba el número de miembros de Corea, sino también el de miembros de todo el mundo que visitaban Corea, la Tierra Santa del evangelio del nuevo pacto. En el culto de inauguración, el Primer Pastor Kim Joo-cheol enfatizó el significado y la importancia de la evangelización mundial. Dijo: “Hemos recibido el gran regalo de la salvación de parte de Dios. En el templo de Pangyo, los cultos del Día de Reposo y del Tercer Día se realizan semanalmente, y las siete fiestas de tres tiempos se celebran cada año sagradamente. Los sermones del Primer Pastor Kim Joo-cheol predicados aquí son traducidos a decenas de idiomas, como español, inglés, portugués, francés, mongol, hindi, árabe, ruso, etc., y proporcionados a los miembros de la iglesia y los usuarios de YouTube de todo el mundo y a través del sitio web oficial de la Iglesia de Dios y el official website and YouTube channel.

Misión y educación para los miembros

  • La Gran Asamblea General se realizó en el templo de Pangyo en 2016, 2017 y 2019. En 2018, la Gran Asamblea General se realizó en el Instituto de Formación Go&Come de Okcheon y en 2020 y 2021 se llevó a cabo virtualmente. Los miembros del personal pastoral de todo el mundo se reunieron para discutir los resultados del evangelio del año anterior y establecieron una visión para el nuevo año.[3][4][5][6]
  • La Ceremonia de Apertura de la Fiesta de Predicación de la Nueva Jerusalén se realizó para celebrar el 100.º aniversario del nacimiento de Cristo Ahnsahnghong e impulsar el movimiento de predicar a siete mil millones de personas (20 de noviembre de 2018).[7]
  • Conferencia Internacional sobre la Familia Feliz se realizó el 6 de abril de 2019. En dicha reunión, el personal pastoral de la Iglesia de Dios de todo el mundo discutió cómo los miembros y ciudadanos pueden tener y mantener una vida familiar feliz.[8]
  • La Conferencia Internacional de Liderazgo para el Personal Pastoral Femenino se llevó a cabo del 27 de abril al 1 de mayo de 2019. El personal pastoral femenino cuida de las iglesias y de los miembros junto al personal pastoral. El personal pastoral femenino de 52 países se reunió en una conferencia para recordar las virtudes de los profetas y las metas del evangelio.[9] El 28 de abril, la Conferencia Internacional “Iglesia Feliz” se realizó en la sala de conferencias del templo de Pangyo para discutir el rol del personal pastoral femenino y cómo pueden trabajar junto con los miembros para hacer de la iglesia un lugar lleno de felicidad.[10]
  • El Culto de Apertura del Semestre para Universitarios se realizó para ayudar a los estudiantes universitarios a establecer valores correctos (21 de febrero de 2016, 5 de marzo de 2017, 4 de marzo de 2018). En dicho evento participaron los universitarios, el personal pastoral, los maestros de los jóvenes y los nuevos estudiantes de Corea.[11][12][13][14]
  • Los jóvenes trabajadores de Corea se juntaron en una Reunión Regular de la Academia Bíblica Internacional para Trabajadores (ABIT) (10 de abril de 2016). La Iglesia de Dios incentiva a los jóvenes trabajadores a establecer su fe a través de las reuniones de educaciones regulares, para que así puedan llevar una sincera y digna vida laboral como miembros de la sociedad.[15]
  • La Ceremonia de Entrega de Premios sobre Contenidos Culturales de la Nueva Jerusalén se realizó el 10 de diciembre de 2017 y el 2 de diciembre de 2018. Es una ceremonia de entrega de premios integrada por la Premiación de Literatura Melquisedec, el Festival de Vídeo Elohim, el Concurso de Contenidos de Presentación de Seminarios Bíblicos y el Concurso de Contenidos de Predicación. Los ganadores contribuyen a la producción de contenido bíblico y religioso en los campos de publicaciones, vídeos y presentaciones.[16][17][18]
  • La Reunión Regular para la Misión en el Trabajo se llevó a cabo para los miembros de la Misión en el Trabajo de la Iglesia de Dios (8 de septiembre de 2019). En esa sesión, los miembros no solo examinaron su fe por medio de las palabras de la Biblia, sino también compartieron la visión del evangelio hablando sobre cómo dar buen ejemplo a los demás trabajando arduamente y haciendo buenas obras en el trabajo.[19]

Un lugar para que la diplomacia ciudadana logre la armonía en la aldea global

El templo de Pangyo sirve como una iglesia representante para las 7500 Iglesias de Dios que están en 175 países. Sirviendo como un centro de la fe y del evangelio, es visitado por los miembros de todo el mundo, incluidos los grupos de visita del extranjero. Además, es un lugar donde se realizan eventos internacionales. Independientemente de su religión, los jóvenes líderes, figuras distinguidas y expertos de todos los ámbitos de todo el mundo se reúnen para promover el desarrollo sostenible del medio ambiente global y discutir los problemas actuales y las tareas comunes de la comunidad internacional. Expertos de diferentes campos de todo el mundo, como el futurista Jerome Glenn, hicieron visitas para conversar con los jóvenes y estudiantes.[20]

A través de estos eventos, aprenden la verdad de la Biblia, sienten el amor de Dios Madre y se unen unos con otros, trascendiendo las fronteras nacionales.[21][22]

  • El seminario para estudiantes internacionales se realizó en la sala de seminarios del templo de Pangyo con el tema “Nuestra Madre” (23 de julio de 2017). Los estudiantes coreanos prepararon este evento para animar y consolar a los estudiantes del extranjero, que estudian lejos de sus países de origen. Los estudiantes internacionales de 43 países, como Reino Unido, Colombia, Ghana, Rumania, Mongolia y Vietnam visitaron la exhibición y participaron del seminario con el tema del amor de una madre. Además, aprendieron a usar el hanbok (ropa tradicional de Corea), jugaron diferentes juegos tradicionales coreanos y tomaron clases de hangeul (idioma coreano). A través de varios intercambios culturales, compartieron emociones y amistades más allá de las fronteras nacionales.[23][24]
  • The 2018 Arise & Shine Global Bible Seminar was held on November 1, 2018. Members who work in various fields such as education, medical care, and electronic engineering in the U.S., Spain, Peru, the Philippines, Mexico, and South Africa testified about God the Mother in the Bible through their expertise.[25][26]
  • The 2019 Arise & Shine Global Bible Seminar was held three times (April 4, April 29, and May 24, 2019). The pastoral staff, the female pastoral staff, and young adult workers from around the world visited Korea and gave TED-style talks about God the Mother and the truth of the new covenant through their expertise and academic knowledge.[27][28][29]
  • The 2019 Arise & Shine Global Bible Seminar for University Students was held on July 12, 2019. University students from 8 countries testified to the existence of God Elohim through their majors such as mathematics, accounting, and social science.[30]

Raising Awareness About Issues Impacting the International Community

  • The 2017 ASEZ Global Forum for the Implementation of UN SDGs was held at the Pangyo Temple on December 7, 2017. This event was hosted by the Church of God University Student Volunteer Group [ASEZ]. More than 3,000 university student members in Korea, international students, embassy officials, university professors, and journalists participated and sought after the role of university students to implement the SDGs.[31][32]
  • The 2018 ASEZ Climate Change Response Conference was held in the seminar room under the subject, “Climate Change Response and the Role of Universities” (November 22, 2018). Duberlí Rodríguez Tineo, the Supreme Court Judge of the Judicial Power of Peru, gave a lecture to conference participants. ASEZ members from the United States, South Africa, and Peru shared about climate disasters that occurred in their countries and the activities citizens can do to increase environmental awareness.[33]
  • The 2019 Worldwide University Student Leadership Conference was held from July 10-17 in 2019. Members from 207 universities in 41 countries and members from 228 universities in Korea participated in the University Student Global Forum for Invigoration of Campus Mission that was held during the conference. University students learned the Bible’s teachings about the virtues of a global leader and developed their competencies as future leaders.[34][35]
  • The ASEZ Conference With Futurist Jerome Glenn, Director of the Millennium Project, was held at the Pangyo Temple and attracted public attention (June 26, 2019). Through the topic, “Seeking the Role of University Students for a Sustainable Future,” Glenn answered questions from ASEZ members. He spoke highly of the ASEZ’s activities, saying that the students were acting right now, and hoped to discuss more in the future with them.[20]
  • The 2019 Global ASEZ Summit was held on July 15, 2019. This event was attended by journalists, ASEZ members and university professors from 42 countries, including the Seoul National University in Korea, Harvard University in the U.S., the University of Western Australia, and the Technical University of Munich in Germany. They discussed how to effectively implement the ASEZ’s “Reduce Crime Together” project in their communities. The administrator of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Judicial Power of Peru gave a lecture to participants, and the Rector of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University in Ukraine gave a video lecture. The participants from all six continents completed the “Change Makers’ Resolution” with a united goal to reduce crime together through education, practice, and solidarity.[36][37][38]

Following God’s word, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mt 22:39)[39], the members of the Pangyo Temple practice love through diverse volunteer services such as support for underprivileged neighbors, environmental cleanups, and blood drives. They hold events such as “Our Mother” Writing & Photo Exhibition and the Happy Seminar for Workers. They also make efforts to connect with the local residents through cultural exchange experiences and intercultural communication.

Sharing Love with Neighbors for Chuseok 2022
  • The members of the Pangyo Temple visited Seongnam City Hall, Bundang-gu Office, and Baekhyeon-dong Administrative Welfare Center to deliver 80 bags of healthy groceries to help their neighbors in need before the Lunar New Year (February 4, 2021).[40][41]
  • The members of the Pangyo Temple delivered 100 gift sets to the Bundang-gu Office as part of the event, Sharing Love With Neighbors During Chuseok (which is traditional Korean feast) (September 19, 2017).[42]
  • The members cleaned the streets in Baekhyeon-dong as part of “Mother’s Street” campaign (November 30, 2017). The purpose of the campaign was to create clean and pleasant environments for local communities by cleaning 40,000 km (the circumference of the earth) of debris with people from all over the world. This campaign was held throughout Korea and in roughly 80 countries.[43]
  • The members collected garbage at the Baekhyeon-dong Cafe Street and Naksaengdae Park on March 14, 2016. These cleanups were to remind themselves about the meaning of the Passover and put God’s love into practice.[44]
  • In celebration of the Passover, the 907th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover was held at the Pangyo Temple on April 26, 2018.[45] About 700 people, including members of the Church of God in Seongnam, neighbors, and local government officials, participated in the event.[46]

  • Character Education for the Youth was held at the Pangyo Temple (July 16, 2017 and August 27, 2019). Middle and high school students from Gyeonggi Province attended and learned about good character, etiquette, service, etc.[47][48]
  • A special initiative of the “Our Mother” Writing & Photo Exhibition that attracted over 600,000 visitors was held (May 19, 2017). The exhibition was originally scheduled to end on July 23; however, it was extended until September 3 thanks to the support of local citizens.[49][50]
  • On October 3, 2018, the 2nd Happy Seminar for Workers was held to encourage workers who have become weary from their busy lives.[51][52]
