“Id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones [...]; enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os he mandado”.[1] Following the words of Jesus Christ, the Headquarters plays a pivotal role in leading the mission of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom to all people.
The Headquarters is located in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do,[2] and close to the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple, the representative church. It has six stories below ground and twelve stories above. It also has departments in charge of education that supports all age groups, administration and personnel, and overseas missions. The Headquarters also includes facilities such as the Church of God History Museum[3] and the International Conference Room.
Responsibilities of the Headquarters
Fulfilling the World Mission by Nurturing the Pastoral Staff
It leads gospel activities to deliver the truth of God Elohim and the New Covenant to 7.8 billion people so that all people can come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved.[4] Through the Church of God Theological Seminary, it nurtures the pastoral staff who will be sent to other countries and leads members with the teachings of God. It also serves as a hub for missions worldwide through various activities such as meetings for pastoral staff around the world and conferences to ignite the gospel by continent, country, and region.[5]
Support for the Establishment and Operation of the Church
With the rapid increase in the number of members and the many requests for new churches, the Headquarters helps establish churches all over the world. As of December 2022, over 7,500 Churches of God have been established in 175 countries. It supports various activities such as worship, preaching, and administration so that churches in each country can run smoothly and fulfill their roles as a place of truth and love.
Education for Members and Event Planning
The Headquarters regularly provides education to members about the truth, how to live a godly life of faith, and the ways to build a good character. The Headquarters shares content such as videos and publications through online media outlets such as the official website and YouTube channel. The Headquarters also provides customized education programs based on age group and titles. Some examples include the International University Students Bible Academy [IUBA], the International Worker Bible Academy [IWBA], and the International Military Bible Academy [IMBA][6] for young adults. They also provide education for middle and high school student camps, elementary school camps, and character education for the youth.[7][8] They offer opportunities for members to display their talents and promote unity through various events such as the Foreign Language Bible Preaching Contest,[9] the New Song Festival,[10] and the New Jerusalem Cultural Content Awards.[11] Through the Overseas Visiting Group program,[12] the Headquarters supports members to practice love and harmony with visiting members from all over the world, transcending nationalities, cultures, and languages.
Planning and Supporting Volunteerism

In particular, one initiative that stood out was the various activities held during the 8th Busan FESPIC Games in 2002.[18] During the Summer Universiade Daegu 2003, the Headquarters set up a supporters' promotion group and ran the Church of God Aurah Supporters initiative. This played a role in the success of the Universiade Games by holding large-scale events for all the athletes from the world: welcome and farewell events, cheering for the games, a welcome dinner, supporting the athletes’ village, interpreting, and even tour guide.[19][20] In addition, the Church of God supported international competitions such as the Asian Athletics Championships and the Korea International Archery Tournament in 2005, the World Soft Tennis Championships 2007 in Anseong, Korea, and the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2016 in Gijang, Korea.[21][22][23][24]
