50.º Grupo de Visita del Extranjero

El programa del Grupo de Visita del Extranjero de la Iglesia de Dios comenzó para traer miembros de todo el mundo a Corea, para que pudieran estudiar la verdad de la Biblia y experimentar el amor de Dios Madre. Corea del Sur es el lugar donde el evangelio del nuevo pacto se ha restaurado y la Iglesia de Dios ha sido restablecida. El programa puede considerarse una peregrinación para los miembros de la Iglesia de Dios de todo el mundo. Esto puede variar desde una semana hasta quince días. Desde el primer Grupo de Visita del Extranjero de Norteamérica en 2001, un total de 75 grupos han visitado Corea hasta antes de la pandemia de la COVID-19.[1]
Durante la visita, los miembros del extranjero aprenden las verdades de la Biblia desde varios puntos de vista en el Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Pangyo, el Instituto de Formación Go&Come de Okcheon, y el Instituto de Formación Elohim. A través de lecciones e instrucciones, los miembros incrementan la profundidad de su fe y amplían su conocimiento de la Biblia. Participando en varios eventos como el Seminario Bíblico Internacional, interactúan con los miembros coreanos y construyen amistades, más allá de las nacionalidades. El programa del Grupo de Visita del Extranjero se formó a principios de la década del 2000. En ese momento, la Iglesia de Dios se estableció en muchos países a través de misiones en el extranjero. Desde que los miembros del extranjero visitaron Corea por primera vez en 1999,[3] las solicitudes de los miembros de todos los países donde la Iglesia de Dios se ha establecido desbordaron la Gran Asamblea. El objetivo era visitar personalmente Corea, donde se restauró la verdad del nuevo pacto y la fe de la Iglesia primitiva, y fortalecer aún más su fe.
Como dice la profecía de la Biblia: “Cuando la gloria de Jerusalén alumbre en todo el mundo, las personas se juntarán desde lejos, volando como nubes y como palomas a sus ventanas”,[4] los miembros de muchas naciones han visitado Corea. Miembros de más de 80 países han visitado Corea, entre ellos Canadá y Estados Unidos en Norteamérica, que afirma ser el lugar de desarrollo del cristianismo; Alemania, Francia y España en Europa, donde se originó la Iglesia católica; Nepal y Japón en Asia; Rep. de Sudáfrica, Zimbabue, Mozambique y Seychelles en África; Perú, México y Argentina en Sudamérica, y Australia y Nueva Zelanda en Oceanía. A los miembros de algunos países les toma tres días llegar a Corea.[5] Los miembros de todo el mundo dedican su tiempo y dinero a visitar Corea porque es la Tierra Santa, donde Dios Padre y Dios Madre vinieron, según lo testificado en la Biblia. Es un centro histórico que desempeñó un papel vanguardista en la difusión del evangelio del nuevo pacto en todo el mundo.[6]
Los miembros del extranjero de la Iglesia de Dios aspiran a experimentar la “tierra de la profecía”, aunque sea por un corto tiempo, conocer a la Madre celestial en Corea, la patria de la fe, y aprender de su amor directamente. Los miembros del extranjero que han visitado Corea han visto y sentido el cumplimiento de las profecías de la Biblia y el estado de desarrollo de la iglesia, al visitar el Museo de Historia de la Iglesia de Dios y las iglesias locales. El programa del Grupo de Visita del Extranjero de la Iglesia de Dios, que permite a los miembros experimentar la historia, las tradiciones y la cultura de Corea, apoya la diplomacia civil al presentar Corea al mundo entero.

Programas

El programa del Grupo de Visita del Extranjero de la Iglesia de Dios se llevó a cabo activamente antes de la pandemia de la COVID-19. Cada viaje tuvo entre 100 y 300 miembros de diversos países e idiomas que llegaron a Corea. Ellos participaron en varios programas planeados por la Sede Central de la Gran Asamblea de la Iglesia de Dios, tales como seminarios educativos, eventos, visitas a las iglesias locales y experiencia de la cultura coreana.

La educación de la verdad representa una gran parte del programa de los grupos de visita del extranjero. Los miembros estudian fervientemente las enseñanzas de la Biblia a través del personal docente en el Instituto de Formación Go&Come de Okcheon, en el Instituto de Formación de Dongbaek y en el Templo de la Nueva Jerusalén en Pangyo, Corea. También aprenden la formación sobre la actitud y el carácter de un creyente.[8] La educación se lleva a cabo sin problemas en el idioma oficial de cada país y en idiomas locales, como inglés, español, japonés, francés, camboyano, cingalés y télugu. Otros idiomas son traducidos por misioneros locales y miembros con el talento de hablar otros idiomas.
Los miembros de los grupos de visita también se conmueven durante los eventos, porque pueden interactuar con los miembros coreanos. Al participar en seminarios bíblicos y conferencias internacionales, y en el Concurso de Predicación de la Biblia en Idioma Extranjero, interactúan unos con otros, trascendiendo fronteras, idiomas y culturas.[9] En las Universiadas de Verano de Daegu 2003 construyeron amistades con personas de todo el mundo, desempeñando un rol activo como alentadores Aurah junto con los miembros de Corea.[10] En 2019, en el 101.º Aniversario del Nacimiento de Cristo Ahnsahnghong, visitaron Corea miembros de los Estados Unidos, Perú, México, Ucrania, Mongolia, Nepal, Rep. de Sudáfrica y otros países, que tenían talento en el campo de la cultura y las artes. Durante este evento, que se llevó a cabo en el Instituto de Formación Go&Come de Okcheon, los miembros dirigieron en armonía varias actuaciones, como tocar instrumentos musicales tradicionales, canciones folclóricas y cuartetos, esperando un futuro brillante para la aldea global.[11][12]

During the overseas visiting group trips, members visit different churches and training institutes that have positively impacted the gospel. Some locations include the Church of God in Gwanak, Seoul, the first church to welcome the overseas visiting groups; the Church of God in Nakseom, Incheon, where the foundation of the gospel of the new covenant was established; and the Elohim Training Institute, where you can experience the beautiful landscape in different seasons.[14] The members also had time to remember the love of their family members by watching the “Our Mother” Writing and Photo Exhibition and the “Father’s True Heart” Exhibition held in local churches.[15][16]

Many of the overseas members did not know much about Korea or visited the country until they came to the Church of God.[18] The church organizes programs that can help members see the beauty of Korea through nature, history, culture, and architecture.

Overseas members of the Church of God have participated in various activities such as learning Korean etiquette, writing Korean alphabet, and learning gayageum (a traditional Korean plucked zither) by visiting historical landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main palace of the Joseon dynasty, Changdeokgung Palace, which is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. High-tech industrial complexes such as Pangyo New Town and Songdo International City, N Seoul Tower, and Lotte World Tower are places that let others see Korea’s remarkable growth achieved in a short period of time.[6] Members from all over the world have expressed their excitement after visiting the Presidential Residence, the National Assembly Building, the Independence Hall, and the Seoul Museum of History to understand Korea’s history. They also enjoyed visiting the Church of God History Museum to see the history of the Bible and the development of the church.[19] The members from inland countries experienced the sea for the first time at the Coastal Wharf in Incheon and Wangsan Beach.[20][21]

It is amazing that the old and the modern are harmonized. I want to introduce these aspects of Korea to people when I go back to my country.”[22]

The Global Bible Seminar is an event where members from various countries, who are engaged in various fields such as space engineering, biology, law, and accounting, gather together to illuminate the existence of God the Mother through their specialized knowledge and the Bible. At the seminar, the Church of God members and people who were interested in the Bible shared their understanding of God the Creator’s providence of salvation contained in the principles and laws of the world.[23][24]

  • August Kruesi (Senior Engineer for Development and Production of Aerojet Rocketdyne Rocket Engine Propulsion System, U.S.): “Mankind explored space in search of the process of life, but we have not found any life outside the earth. Now we need to focus on understanding the source of eternal life here. All life is given by mothers. . . . It is the will of God the Creator that a mother is the life-giving being. . . . The source of eternal life of the soul that mankind should seek is Heavenly Mother. The most precious gift I have received is the realization of Heavenly Mother’s love. I am most proud of the fact that I am Her child.”[22]

Over the years, the size and scope of the overseas visiting groups have grown, and the Church of God began to work together with members from each country to discuss practical ways to share happiness with mankind.

In 2019, the overseas pastoral staff came to Korea to attend the General Assembly, and discussed together with the Korean pastoral staff the role of the church and ways members and citizens can build a happy family life.[29] The 74th Overseas Visiting Group consisted of workers who visited Korea during their time off. During the trip, they shared their experiences and opinions on attitudes and actions that Christians and workers should practice.[17]

At the 2019 Worldwide University Student Leadership Conference, university students from 41 countries established a vision as the global leaders of the next generation and built friendships beyond languages and cultural differences. At the ASEZ Global Summit, which was held during the period of the Conference, representatives from each continent shared the current status of major crimes in their continent and established a joint resolution to lower crime rate and lead the movement from their respective campuses.

Achievements of the Overseas Visiting Group Program

The Church of God Overseas Visiting Group program becomes a special turning point of faith for the members around the world. Through the program, they see the footsteps of Christ who came from the east and restored the truth in accordance with the prophecies of the Bible, and experience God the Mother’s perfect love firsthand. This brings confidence and enthusiasm to the faith of the members. In today's society where individualism is prevalent, members cultivate true faith and good character with the love they have received from God and contribute to family reconciliation, social development, and harmonizing communities.[31]

Overseas members, who have different nationalities, languages, cultures, and ages, expand their view on life by experiencing a new culture together. Some members are greatly moved by the culture to respect the elderly, and they teach their children Korean etiquette.

The Korean members set a good example by serving the overseas members as helpers with Mother’s heart throughout their visit. They help by serving as translators, driving members to different locations, and ensuring the lodging is well-equipped with everything visitors will need.[32] Carrie Song from Albany, U.S., said, “I will put everything learned through Korean members into practice from small details to big things, such as Mother’s love and concern, and kindness and care.”[33][6]

The overseas members, who experienced the love of God the Father and God the Mother and united as a family with other members during their trip, returned to their home countries and took the lead in building unity and increasing happiness among people in the world. Based on the lessons learned in Korea, they try their best to show love every day with an altruistic mind. There are a number of people who realized the love of Christ and received the truth through the good deeds of the members as well as the truth of the new covenant.

  • James Snazel (professor, U.K.): “Until I learned the gospel of the Church of God, I was the typical example of modern-day English people, who tend to be more individualistic and run toward greater honor, success, and a comfortable retirement. I feel joyful just by doing worthwhile work for the world with the church members. I take great pride in being a member of the Church of God.”[22]
